Clinically Supported Benefits

Her kidneys are full of tiny filters called nephrons. Scar tissue, called fibrosis, builds up around them and stops them working properly. That scarring is the one job Catopia is built around.

  • Supports the kidney tissue she still has. She cannot replace the filters she has already lost. The ones left are the ones worth protecting.
  • Targets inflammation, not just the load going in. Renal food, binders and fluids all reduce what her kidneys have to deal with. This works on the inflammation itself.
  • Supports appetite and condition. The two things you watch most closely, and the two that tell you first when something is changing.
  • Nothing new for her to accept. A spoonful over the food she is already eating, sized to her weight. No pill, no capsule, no syringe.

You do not have to pay for a new test to see whether it is doing anything. Her kidney numbers, creatinine and BUN, are already measured at every check.

Key ingredients

There are three oils in that bottle and only one of them does this job.

  • Marine microalgae oil. This is the one. It carries DHA, which is a type of omega-3. In cats with kidney disease, DHA is the one linked to less inflammation. Not omega-3 in general. That one.
  • Organic hemp seed oil and organic flaxseed oil. These carry the omega-6 and omega-9 that round the profile out. They are good oils. They are not the ones doing the work here, and we would rather tell you that than let you assume it.

Why algae and not fish oil. Fish do not make DHA. They eat algae. Going to the algae skips the fish and skips everything that comes with it: no ocean contaminants, no fishy smell for a cat who has gone off fish, and no oil that has already started to turn before it reaches you.

The algae is grown at a single site on a peninsula in Iceland, with the cold North Atlantic on three sides. Cold water matters. In it, this algae builds more of the fat it needs to keep its own cells working, and that fat is DHA.

How it works

Your cat's kidneys are made of hundreds of thousands of tiny filters called nephrons. They pull waste out of her blood.

When nephrons are damaged, the kidney cannot replace them. So the healthy ones left have to work harder to cover for the ones that are gone, and over time that extra strain damages them too.

When that happens, the kidney responds with inflammation and starts laying down repair material around the damage.

Normally that is temporary. The injury settles, the inflammation comes down, and the extra repair material is cleared away.

But with kidney disease the damage never stops. So the inflammation never stops either, and because inflammation is what tells the kidney to keep repairing, more and more material keeps getting laid down.

Eventually it builds into scar tissue. That scar tissue is called renal fibrosis.

As it builds around the nephrons she has left, it gets harder for them to do their job. Function falls further, the survivors strain more, and that makes more damage, more inflammation and more fibrosis.

So fibrosis is not just something kidney disease leaves behind. It becomes part of what keeps it getting worse.

Which means the real problem is not only the function she has lost. It is that fibrosis is holding back the nephrons that are still alive and still capable of working.

That is where Catopia comes in. The inflammation is what keeps the repair process running, so as long as that signal stays on, the kidney keeps building fibrosis.

Our marine algae oil helps switch that signal off. Once it is off, the body can stop building fibrosis and start clearing what is already there.

And as it clears, the surviving nephrons can work better again. The nephrons are what make the kidney work, so better nephrons means a better working kidney.

I had started dreading feeding her and I've never admitted that to anyone

Bonnie is 14 and I had started dreading feeding her, which is not a thing I have ever said out loud. I used to love that bit of the day and now I stand in the kitchen at 6am with a knot in my stomach before I have even opened the tin 😭

I nearly did not order the Catopia because it felt like one more thing to add to the pile, but it is half a teaspoon of oil over the food she is already having, so there was nothing new for her to accept. I was braced for her to clock it because she will not touch anything fishy since she got ill, and it does not smell of fish at all.

I put her bowl down last Tuesday, went to make a cup of tea, and came back to an empty dish for the first time in months. I stood in the kitchen and cried ❤️

He had started backing away from me. That was the bit I couldn't take

Alfie is 16 and by August he had worked out what the towel on my knee meant, so he would see me coming and go under the bed. Sixteen years of running to me and now he was checking my hands first 💔

That was the bit I could not take. Not the disease, that.

The only reason I looked at Catopia is that there is nothing to hide and nothing to force into him, just half a teaspoon over his dinner, stir it through and walk away. He came back on the bed about three weeks in, and I honestly do not know how much of that is the oil and how much is him not being ambushed twice a day any more. I do not care which one it is 🥹

Everyone kept telling me it only goes one way

Poppy is 11 and everything I read said the same thing, that kidneys do not get better and all you can do is slow it down. Catopia was the first thing that explained why nothing else was doing much, because the food and the binder and the fluids are all managing what her kidneys are already failing to do, and this was the first one that talked about the bit of her that is still working.

Half a teaspoon over her breakfast since March, and I have not stopped anything else the vet has her on.

Bloods last week and she has gone from 340 to 268. My vet said whatever you are doing, keep doing it 🙏

I had stopped believing there was anything left worth trying and I was wrong about that ❤️

What the next eight weeks actually look like

What is happening inside her kidney, week by week, and when you start to see it from the outside.

Catopia Algae Oil with a cat holding the bottle
Weeks 1 to 2

The Fibrosis Stops Advancing

  • DHA reaches her kidneys and starts turning down the inflammation telling them to keep laying down scar tissue
  • Turn down that signal, and you stop feeding the fibrosis
  • You may not see a difference yet
  • But inside, the process taking more and more function away from her has been interrupted
Weeks 3 to 4

The Scar Tissue Starts To Clear

  • With that signal turned down, her body can start clearing the fibrosis already built up around the nephrons she still has
  • Less fibrosis means those surviving nephrons can start doing more of their job again
  • This is when the first signs of improvement may start to show
  • She may eat more willingly
  • Seem less washed out
  • Show more interest in what is going on around her
Weeks 5 to 6

Her Kidney Function Starts Improving

  • She cannot replace the nephrons she has already lost
  • But as fibrosis clears, the nephrons she still has can work better
  • And when they filter better, she can start feeling better too
  • More appetite. More energy. More affection. More of the cat you know
  • Not just a better day here and there
  • Signs that things may actually be moving in the right direction
Week 8 and beyond

You Start Seeing What You Were Hoping For

  • This is the real goal
  • Not simply slowing down how quickly she gets worse
  • Actually seeing that what you are doing is helping her get better
  • Her kidneys working better. Her appetite coming back. Her energy returning
  • Her wanting to be around you again
  • Because after everything you have done for her, that is what you really want to see
  • Not just more time. Real improvement in the time she has

5 Reasons Why

Cat Owners Choose Catopia®

She already has enough things managing CKD. Catopia has a different job.

A cat held close by her owner
Reason 1

It Targets What Is Holding Back The Nephrons She Still Has

Your cat cannot replace the nephrons she has already lost.

But lost nephrons and surviving nephrons that are being held back are not the same thing.

As kidney disease progresses, scar tissue called renal fibrosis builds around the nephrons she still has, and makes it harder for them to do their job.

Catopia is built around that problem.

Not managing another symptom of kidney disease. Targeting the thing that is stopping the kidney tissue she still has from working as well as it could.

Reason 2

It Uses Algae DHA, Not Just Another Fish Oil

There are different omega-3s, from different sources, and they are not interchangeable.

Catopia uses DHA rich marine microalgae oil because DHA is the one that does this job.

When algae DHA and fish oil were fed side by side to cats, the algae source put more DHA into their blood and cells.

And in feline kidney disease, DHA specifically is the omega-3 tied to lower inflammation and better condition.

Not just omega-3. Not just fish oil. DHA, from the source we chose for it.

Reason 3

It Isn't Another Product For Another Symptom

Renal food has a job.

Phosphorus binders have a job.

Fluids have a job. So do the nausea medication, the appetite support and the blood pressure tablets.

Catopia is not trying to replace any of them.

It exists because those things manage the problems kidney disease creates, and Catopia is aimed at the fibrosis happening inside the kidney itself.

So if her routine has turned into ten different things solving ten different problems, this is the one with a different job.

A spoonful of golden algae oil
Reason 4

You Don't Have To Turn Another Meal Into A Battle

No pill to hide.

No capsule to talk her into swallowing.

No syringe to chase her round the house with.

Just spoon it over food she is already willing to eat.

Because when you are already warming her food, changing flavours, watching every mouthful and wondering whether she will eat today, the last thing you need is one more treatment she learns to avoid.

The Icelandic site where the algae is grown
Reason 5

It Comes From One Place, For A Reason

Catopia's marine microalgae comes from a single site on a peninsula in Iceland, with the cold North Atlantic on three sides of it and geothermal power coming out of the ground beneath it.

And the cold matters.

In cold water this algae builds more of the fat it needs to keep its own cells working.

That fat is DHA.

So instead of blending oils from unknown sources and calling it omega-3, we start with one traceable source, grown in the conditions that make the most of what we came for.

FAQ

I am already doing the renal food, the binder and the fluids. Why would this be any different?

Look at what each of those is actually for. The renal food puts less through her kidneys. The binder catches phosphorus in her gut before it ever reaches them. The fluids flush her through. The anti sickness tablet stops her feeling sick. Every one of them is worth doing and you should keep doing all of them.

But look at the pattern. Every single one works by lowering the load on her kidneys, or by cleaning up after them. Not one of them goes near the scarring that is squeezing the kidney tissue she still has. That is the gap. It is the only job Catopia has.

My vet told me this only goes one way. Is he wrong?

He is telling you the truth about everything he has to offer. Renal food, binders, fluids: every one of them works by asking her kidneys to do less. The very best any of them can get you is a slower fall. Nobody offered you something that goes the other way, because nothing on that shelf does.

Here is the part that gets missed. Filters she has lost and filters that are being held back are not the same thing. She cannot grow back what is gone, and we are never going to tell you she can. But the scarring pressing on the ones she still has is not the same as lost tissue. Take away the signal that keeps building it, and her body can start clearing what is there.

That is not reversing kidney disease. It is a different target to everything else you have been given.

She has gone off her food completely. How is she supposed to take this?

That is exactly why it is an oil and not a pill. It goes on whatever she is willing to eat that day. The renal food, a Churu, warm chicken, baby food, the one thing she has not turned her nose up at yet. It does not need her to eat a special diet and it does not need her to be hungry.

And it does not smell of fish. That matters more than people think, because most cats with kidney disease have gone off fish and can smell it across the kitchen. You are not asking her to accept one more new thing. You are putting it on the dinner she was having anyway.

I promised her no more pills. I am not putting her through another thing.

Then this is the only thing on this page you should be looking at.

There is nothing to pill her with. Nothing to hide in a treat she will learn to avoid. No syringe, no towel on your knee, no holding her still while she tries to get away from you. You pour it on her food and you walk off.

We hear the same thing from owners more than anything else. She had started backing away when they came near. She was checking their hands before she would come over. Fifteen years of running to them, and now this. That was the part they could not take. Not the disease. That. Nothing about this teaches her to be wary of you.

She is on Cerenia, mirtazapine, a binder and fluids. Is it safe on top of all that?

Yes, and keep every single one of them. Do not stop anything.

It is a food oil that goes on her dinner. There is nothing to swallow and nothing being processed, so there is nothing for it to clash with. Run it on top of what she is already having.

What owners tell us is that things start coming off later, once her numbers move and their vet takes her off them. That is the right way round. Never change her treatment on your own.

I already tried an omega-3 for her and it did nothing.

Then you were almost certainly given the wrong one, and it is worth two minutes to know why.

The one that does this job is called DHA. If what you bought said flaxseed or chia or plant omega-3 on the front, that was not DHA. It was the raw material, and she was supposed to build the real thing out of it herself. A cat converts almost none of it. An older cat with failing kidneys converts less again.

Fish oil is closer, but only part of it is DHA, so you are paying for the wrong half. And when cats were given DHA from algae and DHA from fish side by side, the algae went into their blood better.

So it was not that the idea did not work for her. It was the wrong molecule, or not enough of the right one.

How will I actually know if it is doing anything?

You will not have to take our word for it, and you will not have to pay for a new test to find out.

Her kidney numbers, creatinine and BUN, are already being measured every time she goes in. Keep her on everything else, add this, and look at the next set of bloods.

The softer things usually come first. She eats without being talked into it. She is in the room with you again. She gets back on the bed. And you will not believe any of it until the blood sheet backs it up, because you have been told she was stable before. That is fair. Wait for the sheet.

Is it too late? She is already stage three.

Most people who buy this are at stage three, because that is usually the point where somebody stops accepting the answer they were given.

What we would say is do not sit on it. This is not standing still while you decide. Every month more scarring builds around the kidney tissue she still has, and that tissue is exactly what we are trying to free up. The sooner you start, the more of her there is left to work with.

And if she has only just been diagnosed, that diagnosis was already late. A cat loses most of her kidney function before a blood test picks up anything at all.

I have already spent a fortune on things that did not work. Why would this be any different?

We know. The prescription food she would not touch. The supplement that did nothing. The referral, and then the second opinion. Nobody in your position is short of things they wish they had not paid for.

So we will make this simple. Give it to her for 30 days, on top of everything else she is already having. If you do not see a difference, email us and every penny comes back. You do not have to send the bottle back and you do not have to prove anything to us.

The only thing you can lose here is 30 days. And she does not have 30 days to spare while you think about it.
